Why did you choose ITA?
An ITA employee I knew had been telling me what a great place it was to work for a long time. Later, when I was in a position of looking to change jobs, I did my puzzles and interviewed. It did indeed seem interesting, but I got rejected. About two years later I was told that ITA was hiring again, and I came back in. During the interview, I decided the reservation system ITA was tinkering with was something that I wanted to work on. Fortunately, this time the attraction seemed mutual. About a month later I was on board.
What's been your most exciting achievement at ITA?
It was very exciting getting our reservation system to talk to United in those early days. Our CEO was able to fly to an industry meeting on a ticket issued by our software. Later, I got to do the same.
What do you like best about ITA?
The food (just kidding!). It's the people of course. Lots of very talented and interesting people to work with. Also, I have a lot of confidence in the competence and integrity of the people who are running the company.
What interesting things have you learned outside of your job responsibilities at ITA or from ITA co-workers?
That we employ a champion sky diver. Also, that an ITAer finished in the top 20 at the world Scrabble tournament.
What activities/hobbies are you involved in outside of ITA?
I am an active member (and former president) of my synagogue.
