Systems Engineer, Internet Booking Engine

ITA is seeking experienced system administrators to support ITA's
industry-leading products. In this role, you can play a major role in
designing, implementing, and supporting a production environment that
services major commercial websites.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage application server instances in a
high-availability, redundant hosting environment.
• Work closely with engineering to understand new applications that need
to be delivered to production. Create and execute deployment plans for
these applications.
• Develop code and procedures to enable automated installs and upgrades
of application servers that leverage in house central management tools.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting complex web
application problems.
• Participate in 24x7 support for production installations

Qualifications:

• Demonstrable expertise in UNIX/Linux systems administration
• Expertise in a subset of: Tomcat, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Python, build
management using rpm
• Solid understanding of networking: IP, TCP, UDP, routing, etc.
• This position requires someone who has experience running web
applications in high volume environments.
• Minimum of 3 years supporting web application servers in a production
commercial environment.
• Must have experience with the integration of web servers, web
application servers, databases, and hardware load balancers.

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Must be willing to perform requirements gathering for new products.
• Must be willing to coordinate work with other groups and team members.
• Must be willing to produce documentation and define procedures for
other administrators.
