Director of Deployment

As Director of PSS Deployments, you will be responsible for managing the launches of our large-scale, mission critical Passenger Service applications for ITA’s airline customers. 

Working with internal and external groups, the Director of PSS Deployments will create a detailed plan and manage the activities with a goal of seamless transitions from customers’ legacy systems to ITA’s new Passenger Service System. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage deployment plans for ITA Passenger Service System installations.  This includes time horizons ranging from long range planning and preparation periods, to minute-to-minute planning during actual cutover periods.
  • Manage resources from ITA’s technical teams from deployment planning through cutover.
  • Develop policies and procedures to insure successful PSS deployments that improve with each successive engagement.
  • Regularly communicate with senior management outlining project status, earliest possible risk/issues identification and schedule slippage. Identify options and recommends course of action in relation to issues.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of customer organizations, including individual contributors, project teams and E and C level executives.
  • Lead and/or participate in both business and technical meetings involving customer, third party and ITA teams at all stages of the deployment.
  • Understand and communicate customer requirements to ITA’s senior management and technical teams.
  • Understand and appropriately communicate ITA’s and the customer’s strategic business positions.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years technical project management experience.
  • Proven success managing mission-critical, large-scale application deployment project in the airline industry including specific experience with the details of multiple PSS launches
  • Technical and/or business degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical experience in software engineering or computer science.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to present complex business and software concepts, verbal and written, to customers with varying technical background and at all levels of the customer organization (project teams to E and C level executives).
  • Eagerness and ability to learn complex domain-specific details about travel industry and ITA’s unique technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle shifting company and customer priorities.
