IT Reporting Automation Internship

The focus of this project will be to automate the current ticketing system statistics which are manually gathered and present them to the user community in a simple and transparent fashion.  Additionally, we will be building this reporting environment (which is initially used by IT) as a new service which IT will provide to other departments.

Responsibilities:

• Combine data from multiple locations and aggregate into a single database
• Use Pentaho, an open source business intelligence tool, to interface with the database and generate adhoc reports
• Create an IT end user dashboard, auto generated weekly, to quickly display whether or not high-level metrics were met, and the percentages of those statistics

Knowledge & Skills:

• MySQL
• Unix shell scripting (bash is preferred)
• Web development
• Interest in metrics and business analytics
