Airline Reservation System Engineering Analyst Internship

We are looking for a talented, motivated college intern to take responsibility for all aspects of building a new application to support project planning and tracking for a 25-30 person engineering team.  The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work independently and find solutions to technical issues on the internet.

Responsibilities:

• Extract project data from one system and defect data for another system using SQL, XML over HTTP or other mechanism and combine two sources of data to provide a unified view of the work to be done for one or more projects
• Generate reports and charts for management
• Create models and forecasts of project performance

Qualifications:

• At least one year’s progress towards a degree in computer science, engineering statistics, economics or IT
• Programming experience and competence in Java (preferred), Python or other language
• Experience in database programming with SQL
• Experience working with XML
• Interest in software engineering management
• Ability to create spreadsheet, statistical or other models
• Some experience as a contributor to one or more open source project is a plus
• Statistical programming experience in R (or another statistical language) is a plus
