Senior Software Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (Flight Availability and Inventory Systems)

ITA Software is changing the world of travel and is looking for a highly motivated Senior Software QA Automation Engineer to help lead our automated testing efforts for our expanding product offerings.  The successful candidate will manage many of the short- and long-term tasks essential in extending our QA tools and techniques to efficiently certify our product. Strong development and QA expertise, demonstrated project and team leadership skills, acute attention to detail, and willingness to learn all about the travel industry are your keys to success at ITA. Additionally, the right candidate will be able to motivate others, promote best practices, balance priorities, schedule resources, attend meetings, and communicate effectively within and outside of the group.

Responsibilities:

• Own and deliver the definition, implementation, and maintenance of automated solutions for system verification
• Organize, update, and coordinate test tool development activities to maximize reach and return on effort
• Synthesize large volumes of internal and external information and distill into framework and test case plans
• Communicate clearly with Development, Product Management, and Operations to ensure adoption and reach of test tools
• Provide framework and test case documentation, training, and support for all team members
• Fix framework bugs and improve test architecture, including adding required unit tests
• Perform detailed analysis of product and test tool failures
• Research and communicate product software defects to team members
• Develop and execute policies that will ensure efficient architecture, performance, and ensure quality software
• Provide timely status and planning updates
• Model and teach best practices to peer and junior members

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years software QA or Development experience, building and testing applications in Unix/Linux environments
• Solid understanding of quality assurance and software development methodologies
• Demonstrated programming experience usage Java, Python, or other programming language
• Demonstrated skills in integration, deployment, and large scale application testing
• Strong test strategy creation and implementation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team Leadership and Project management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the travel industry a plus
