Senior Release Engineer

We are looking for a talented Release Engineer to oversee, and improve, our build and continuous integration processes. The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated, self-starter who will take responsibility for all aspects of building, testing, packaging, and release of largescale commercial applications.

Responsibilities:

• Administer a Hudson based build farm optimized for near real-time continuous integration
• Bugfix Hudson and create new plugins as required; upstream your code back to the open source community!
• Create, optimize, monitor, and maintain build and integration processes for a diverse array of software projects (encompassing a number of diverse languages) daily
• Help diagnose and debug build, code, and performance issues as they arise. Use these experiences to formulate new requirements and success criteria. Improve the maintainability and sustain-ability of our production environments.
• Develop and leverage an in-depth understanding of the challenges associated with building and maintaining complex, cloud-based services. Work with different internal teams to understand product domains.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years detailed knowledge of Linux and command-line tools
• 2+ years working with subversion, make (and the makefile format)
• 2+ years programming experience in Python
• 2+ years programming experience in Java
• Hudson experience a huge plus
• Serious shell scripting (any shell) a huge plus
• Apache Tomcat experience a huge plus
• Ant and Maven experience a huge plus
• Scons experience a plus
• Lisp experience a plus
• Previous experience building RPMs a huge plus

Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid understanding of networking: IP, TCP, UDP, routing, etc
• Familiarity with common protocols such as DNS and HTTP
• Real-world problem solving skills are absolutely critical
• Ability to constantly learn new domains, both technical and non-technical
• Ability to independently prioritize tasks and deliver quality results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
