Performance Engineer
ITA is looking to hire performance engineers to help tune a new product which is comprised of hundreds of interrelated processes running in a distributed Linux environment. We're looking for people who are part hacker, part administrator, and part scientist. In this role, you'll learn a product domain, then figure out a way to generate load on the processes that make up that product. You'll help us tune the hardware, networks, and software that comprise the system.
Responsibilities: * Load test and tune products in a distributed Linux environment
* Work with different internal teams to understand product domains
* Create, select, and implement load generation tools
* Work with sysadmins, engineers, DBAs, and others to understand the performance of complex systems
* Work with both the customer and internal teams to produce and validate performance goals
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in CS, or equivalent work experience
* Extensive programming experience in a UNIX or Linux environment
* Experience designing end-to-end solutions, including code, hardware, and networks
* Experience using and/or maintaining relational databases, especially Oracle
* Strong understanding of networking
Special Knowledge/Skills Required: * Ability to constantly learn new domains, both technically and non-technically
* Ability to prioritize efforts without constant management involvement
* Must have excellent problem solving skills, and a willingness to exercise them on a daily basis
