Quality Assurance Engineer, Novel Semantic Web Technologies

We are looking for an enthusiastic QA Engineer to join our semantic web team! You will work with a small group of engineers, doing both manual and automated testing of a new website that performs information extraction, machine learning, automatic data transformation, and search.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans for our web-based GUI and back-end data acquisition tools
• Bug discovery: find, isolate, and report on all kinds of bugs
• Bug lifecycle: monitor, retest and close bug cases, working closely with engineers.

Qualifications:

• Experience with XML, JSON, RDF, or databases valuable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

• 3+ years QA experience with commercial hosted web applications
• Full understanding of QA concepts and methodology
• Experience with a formal bug-tracking system
• Familiarity with Java, Linux, and Javascript valuable
