Quality Assurance Engineer, Novel Semantic Web Technologies

We are looking for an enthusiastic QA professional to join our semantic web team! You will be the project's founding QA Engineer, working with a small group of programmers to design and carry out both manual and automated testing of a new website that performs information extraction, machine learning, automatic data transformation, and search.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans for our web-based GUI and back-end data acquisition tools
• Help build the QA team as the project moves towards public launch
• Bug discovery: find, isolate, and report on all kinds of bugs
• Bug lifecycle: monitor, retest and close bug cases, working closely with engineers.

Qualifications:

• Experience with XML, JSON, RDF, or databases valuable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

• 5+ years QA experience with commercial hosted web applications
• QA-team leadership experience valuable
• Experience with pre-launch product development valuable
• Full understanding of QA concepts and methodology
• Experience with a formal bug-tracking system
• Familiarity with Java, Linux, and Javascript valuable
