Technical Project Manager

To support our growing customer base and expanding product line, ITA is looking for experienced candidates for the position of Technical Project Manager as part of the ITA Implementation & Technical Services organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and tracking all stages of customer implementation and integration projects. This job requires that you have the ability to quickly grasp and understand the customer project requirements, as well as ITA product capabilities and technical issues. You must be able to operate under minimal supervision and will be responsible for tracking issues, risks, and deliverables for multiple customer projects and ensuring that implementation deadlines are met and that scheduling and resource issues are resolved.

Responsibilities:

• Holds responsibility for the ITA portion of the project budget and schedule, from project commencement to delivery.
• Works with customer project managers and ITA Implementation Engineers and Technical Consultants to define project deliverables and develop the detailed project plan. Estimates time frames along with the level and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project. Tracks progress against the project plan and identifies, monitors critical areas to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Generates other project management documentation, such as regular status reports to both customer and ITA management.
• Analyzes customer requirements and objectives. Responsible for the gathering and documentation of requirements, and participates in the authoring of these documents.
• Enforces criteria concerning scope, measures of success, and change management. Adjusts project scope and cost estimates accordingly.
• Acts as liaison between the customer project team and ITA for duration of the project. Works closely with ITA's account/support management team.
• Conducts regular status calls and other project meetings.
• Acts as customer and project advocate at ITA. Engages internal resources as needed.
• Facilitates hand-off of projects to customer and ITA support groups upon completion.
• Manages other team members assigned to the implementation.
• Travel required.

Qualifications:

• Proven project management and client management experience in IT/software with 7 or more years experience managing and/or supporting large-scale technical projects.
• 5 or more years experience managing project teams
• Track record of quickly acquiring detailed product and domain knowledge, and applying that knowledge to the project at hand.

• Technical and product knowledge: Learns technical, product, and domain knowledge, and applies it to decision-making and communication.
• Strategic Thinking: Considers a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems and making decisions; identifies critical, high-payoff strategies, and prioritizes team efforts accordingly; uses information about the customers’ business in making decisions; recognizes strategic opportunities for success; adjusts actions and decisions for strategic purposes.
• Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations, uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
• Communication: Good communication, presentation, organization and planning skills. Effective interpersonal skills to work as a team member and as a liaison with customers. Professional appearance and presentation required. Strong informal and formal writing skills required.
• Software requirements: Strong PC software skills, including project planning, presentation, and drawing applications.
